When You Die, The World Moves On: Your Impact Is The Only Proof You Lived

A few moments after burial, people eat, drink, and even quarrel over food. Days later they leave, weeks later your office replaces you, and within months many forget you. Stop living for people's validation — live on your own terms and let your community impact be the certificate that you were here.

Moments after one dies, these are the realities:

Few moments after internment, people will start eating food and taking drinks. Some will even quarrel that food, drinks and souvenirs did not get to them. Fight may result.

One day later, relatives who came for the burial will start living alongside some remaining friends who couldn't leave that day.

Moments later, or few weeks after, someone will take your place at work, in your office, in that position you thought was irreplaceable.

Few months later, your friends — including some who once benefitted from you — will no longer remember you in their gatherings.

One year later, people will completely forget that you ever existed.

And that's why your community impact, if you had any, will serve as your certificate that you once existed in this world.

The sad reality is that you spend your entire life worrying and overthinking about what people will say about you while alive. But the truth you should know today is that people don't care about you as much as you think or believe. The moment you expire, people will move on and everything becomes history.

So, don't live your life based on people's opinion, approval or validation.

Live your life on your own terms. Focus on your community impact and get your certificate and receipt that you actually lived here.
